Spring alive is an exciting activity here in Kenya. An event was organised by Nature Kenya and Yala Environmental Volunteers on 17th October 2015. It was held in Yala Swamp Important Bird Area. a Total of 34 people participated including the Kenya Wildlife service officer and 14 school children. The new school children participants were taught on some basic skills of bird identification, using binoculars and bird guide books. The children were able to identify birds species in the local Luo language. A total of 46 bird species were recorded includingBarn swallow and Yellow wagtail Discussions were held on how to help migratory species and how to participate in Spring allusive as a along term programme.
